I have always been a fan of World of Warcraft and have played this game fore many years and i feel is worth the £8.99 a month that the game costs however with the world of gaming slowly moving to free-to-play or buy-to-play like most games are these days such as the likes of elder scrolls online which i have blogged about before then i feel that WOW is slowly moving out of the running for the biggest MMORPG even though the game has many features and overall for me is the biggest longest game i have ever played now coming up to about 6 years (on and off) it is losing the quality of the game for example buying the new expansion gets you a level 90 like seriously i have slaved my ass off to get to level 90 and then BOOM i can instantly get to it haa cheers blizzard and then to top it off you can now buy level 90s ohhh wicked thanks again my level 90 means nothing now.
Diluting the quality of players at the top end of the game means that you get anybody roaming around at level 90 getting level 90 herbs and mining and diluting the whole market place and AH for the rest of the gamers that have played this game for years. Which to me is annoying since the new expansion which i brought i haven't played the game and have decided to break my subscription.
The move to free-to-play though will make it worth playing again i'm not going to pay my hard earned money to get some noobs at level 90 i like hard earned players allowing for quality game play at high level.
WOW step towards Free-To-Play is by introducing WOW tokens these can be brought by in game gold and can be swapped by players or brought from the blizzard store and can be swapped for in game gold. So if a player earns the right amount of gold then it is possible to play for free which means you can save money with time spent on the game now this makes sense the thing is with the diluted AH and all the level 90s there are is it really free-to-play can you get enough gold to earn free game play im not sure.
WOW just make it free-to-play and be done with it stop flapping about and get it done.
