Top 5 Gaming Keyboards of 2018: So Far

We all know the feel of a keyboard can change the whole PC and the game we are playing. Having the right tool for the job can solve everything. Here is a top 5 list in my opinion of the best gaming keyboards on the market in 2018 so far.

Number Five: Corsair K63 Wireless

Now I am not a fan of wireless anything as I always forget batteries and have to worry about charging things and I just haven't got the time or memory for it. However this gem of a keyboard with its tight cherry MX red switches, full RGB lighting and media controls is perfect for any couch potatoes. If you like what you see you can get it here.

Number Four: Razor Blackwidow Chroma V2
The Razor Blackwidow Chroma V2 is one awesome keyboard not only does it have nice clickable keys and a stylish look it has a nice five macro keys addition to allow for you to get that edge in game and supports 16.8 million colours of LED lighting because you know red, blue and green wasn't enough.  If you like the look of this one you can get it here.

Number Three: Cooler Master MasterSet MS120
Once again this keyboard has an amazing feel not only does it have lights all over the shop which is always it also comes with a mouse that also lights up. Not a bad deal. If you like what you see you can get it here.

Number Two: Logitech G513
Brushed with metal this keyboard is great for all the times you are eating snacks and then you get your finger prints all over the keyboard, this one is all but immune. Along with its awesome RGB lighting you have a strong contender for the front spot and nearly had it. If you like what you see you can get it here.

Number One: Roccat Vulcan 120 Aimo

Here is my number one. The Roccat Vulcan 120 Aimo. The keys on this monster are amazing and added with the lighting just feels like your typing with quality. What makes this different to the other four keyboards I have suggested well nothing really they are all the same but the look of this keyboard alone is worth the price. Adding this to any set up with make it 1000 times better. If you like what you see you get it here.

Tell me what you guys think?
Should there be another on the list?

Fallout 4 MOD SUPPORT THIS ARPIL!!

Bethesda games have a long standing history with modding communities. Fallout 4 is no exception, with fans so desperate to tweak and alter the game several fans have struggled through making the changes without any developer support up until this point.

So far the previous popular Bethesda titles such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 3 have received developer created modding tools in the form of creation kits (G.E.C.K in the case of fallout for the fans) which allow modders to change various aspects of the experience.

In an interview with Gameinformer, Fallout 4 Director Todd Howard spoke about upcoming DLC for Fallout 4 as well as announcing that the modding tools for Fallout 4 would be releasing this April. The most exciting part? Not only are the modding tools coming very soon, but not long behind the PC release is a console release, that's right, modding being accessible from the console version of the game, which would make a first for video gaming in general.
"[Mod Support] will go up at that time on PC. In April,"

Said Todd Howard before also revealing that:

"It'll probably be a good month before it hits Xbox One, and another month for PlayStation 4."

As a final cherry on the Fallout cake, Todd spoke about the survival mode coming to the game which isn't "months and months" away, though he would not provide a more concrete time. On the matter he said:

"Survival mode has a lot of changes that can be pretty dramatic. Once we get it honed where it's working well enough, we're going to put it on Steam beta for a while. 'Here it is. Start playing it. Give us feedback.' It's far easier to update and iterate on [PC]. Once we settle on it, then we'll release it for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One."

Don't worry about burning in nuclear fire; I#m the one who give you permission to fry.
A specially designed piece of Wayne industries tech designed to cover up the protagonists ass at any cost. ;)

So there it is, what do you think? Do you look forward to seeing what mods can come out providing new and interesting content? Do you just want to dress as batman in post-apocalyptia or do you just want to get to the DLC already? Either way let us know in the comments and as always:

Vive VR Headset priced at $800 (£562)

The Valve and HTC Vive VR headset has at long last released it's pricing information as well as a release window.

The Vive VR which aims to serve as the competitor for the now more ubiquitous Oculus Rift VR headset is aiming to release in "early April" this year with a price tag of $799 (£562). This puts the new hardware at a significant disadvantage right out of the gate as the product cost $200 dollars more than the Oculus without the same level of sustained media hype feeding it's reputation.

To start with the VR is only shipping to the following countries:

U.S.
Canada
U.K.
Germany
France
Austria
Belgium
Czech Republic
Denmark
Finland
Iceland
Italy
Netherland
Norway
Poland
Spain
Switzerland
Ireland
Sweden
Taiwan
China
Japan
Australia
New Zealand.

The VR headset is reported to be bundled with the games 'Job Simulator' and 'Fantastic Contraption'. The product itself is supposed to ship with an internal microphone, "Lighthouse" Lazserteam base stations for motion tracking as well as a controller for each hand.

The product is intended to be used with games powered by Steam VR and judging by comments taken from interviews with Palmer Lucky the creator of the Oculus Rift; this product was developed with at least some insight taken from the development of Lucky's product.

So what do you think? Are we finally entering a world where VR is as common as an Xbox Kinect? or is this just another cash sink that's not going much further than the Virtual Boy did back in the day? If you don't remember Virtual boy, why not see what angry gamer had to say on the matter?

Whatever your view, I for one look forward to the day I can scurry around on a Holodeck and bask on a hot rock without having to deal with any real predacious threat. Until then; I'm heading back on Borderlands: The Handsome Collection to finish off the last few trophies, come back for more news soon and as always:

League for Gamers: The bright new hope of social media.

Yes, build by gamers for gamers.

So here's a thing that you may or may not know: twitter is being left in ruins. The stock is tanking to depths lower than ever before, "Shadowbanning" is running rampant leaving an entire user-base unsure where the tweets from those they are following have gone in their timelines and even fearing what to post next unless they end up as next on a blacklist/ blocklist. Other social media platforms are seeing similar tarnish to their reputation; as Facebook moves to censor political opinion and Tumblr... well, I think most internet users are aware of the stereotype prescribed to the typical user.

It can leave people feeling a little left out in the cold, even from beneath my 100w heat lamp. Many people are turning towards new social media platforms, from Periscope and YikTak to "Tsu", but all of these will be a free-for-all of everyone from your best friends, work colleagues to your Grandma who isn't going to appreciate your spamming of trailers for Mass Effect: Andromeda later this year.

Haven't you wondered; what if there was a social network  made by gamers, FOR the gamers, that wasn't quite as NSFW as /v/. Well, now your prayers have been answered! Meet:

No, it's not a sports team.

The League for Gamers. A brand new social media site that's steadily gaining popularity among the video game obsessed subcultures of the internet. It was created by Mark Kern along with a team of unpaid volunteers. Who's Mark Kern? Only the former team lead for World of Warcraft as well as a key contributor of several Blizzard projects who, though now retired is advocating for video games, and most importantly, you; the gamer.

The League for Gamers is still in a Beta stage and as such some features as still being developed, but it works essentially much like a combination of Twitter, Facebook and Linkdin. You can post updates with a total of 512 characters (a vastly more expressive number than 140) including links, follow other users and create groups to discuss and share ideas... much like the newly added group for this blog as run by yours truly. There are also facilities to advertise/ search for skills that are used by indie game developers.

But here's the rub, the reason why this - in my opinion - sets it apart from other efforts:

There is no draconian speech policy.

Nothing is off the table so long as it falls within the bounds of the law, no pandering to hurt feelings, no safe-spaces and especially no Blockbots allowed. In fact they actually provide a checker to see if your Twitter account is already on one.

So please, head over, show your support. Create an account and join the group for all the keks and info, share with your friends and get posting, but most importantly...

Cloaking Technology: Don't see the point? Then it's working.

Gamers,

So how many times have you played a game where you've been saved at the last minute by some form of invisibility technology?  Whether it's Crysis' CryNet Nanosuit, Halo's Arbiter in the Halo 2 Campaign or even just Zero's "Decoy" ability in the second Borderlands game I'm guessing most of us have experienced this ability at some point while indulging in our hobby. Have you ever wondered though; just how far away is this?

Well, apparently it may be closer than we've realised with promise on the horizon thanks to researchers from the University of California, San Diego who've designed a super-thin sheet of materials that can hide 3-D objects, including their shadow.

This isn't the first attempt or even advance in this field, with articles over the years always claiming that invisibility is right around the corner, but it is another important step as other previous attempt have hinged on certain lighting conditions, larger machinery or people being positioned in just the correct place; defeating the purpose of the technology.

To quote the IEEE Spectrum report on the matter:

"The cloak is very thin—only about a tenth the size of the wavelength of the photons it’s scattering—and lossless, so there’s no dimming to give away the presence of the cloak. The scientists achieved this by using a new design and different materials. Instead of a periodic structure of metal, which absorbs light, they use two dielectric materials, a Teflon substrate studded with cylinders made of a ceramic. The ceramic has a high refractive index, and the Teflon has a low refractive index. When combined, they create a metamaterial, capable of bending light in unusual ways."

The researchers next aim it to create this material beyond computer modelling into something that can be shown to have practical applications, so although admittedly a long way off, maybe those invisible suits of power armour aren't so implausible after all. I for one relish the idea of the cloak, but what about you? what will you do with such power readily available, does the idea of not being able to trust your eyes anymore cause you concern? Apple Pay Launches in the UK.....(How to use it?)

Gamers/Techys

Well here is the first technology post we have created and why not do it about the new Apple Pay.

If you have a contactless card then the concept of this payment is basically the same as that, but other than using your card you can use your iphone well iphone 6, 6plus and apple watch.
The cap limit like on contactless card payments is £20 and will increase to £30 in september. Apple plan to install special terminals in stores that have fingerprint scanners to allow for bigger purchases.

How does it work?

Apple pay is a wallet a digital wallet like paypal. It lets you use the cards that are stored in your Passbook app. You can use this online or instore. Unlike contactless however Apple pay have a little more security as it use a token feature for example if you go into a store and pay contactless with a card it will pass your details onto the supplier. However Apple gives the supplier a token without giving them your details allowing them to use that token only once. Using the finger scanner the payments are approved by the user's fingerprint making the Apple pay in my opinion safer than contactless as anyone can use your contactless card but Apple pay unless they have your hand which would be very unfortunate to lose a hand and a phone on the same day they can't use it.

Most of the big banks are getting involved HSBC,Santander, Natwest, RBS,Lloyds but there is a issue with Barclays and they are still trying to "figure things out"

Most of the retailers that use contactless will also accept the Apple pay. Online however the concept is like Paypal and can be used to pay for things securely. The list of online retailers are slowly increasing so be sure to check before you try and purchase online, chances are they are going to be alot of online stores getting involved once this kicks off and the amount of people that love Apple im sure that it will.

So to conclude i think this is a safer way to pay with contactless then the actual contactless card and the online service is basically Apple Paypal so how that will catch on I don't know.

What do you guys think?
Will you be using this service?
